Clinical trails on volunteers show that ginseng extract can substantially slow down the heart rate and reduce oxygen demand. It has been reported that ginseng, namely the crude drugs which are obtained from the ginseng plants, contain inter alia saponins, sapogenins, vitamin B group compound, and beta-sitosterol D-glucoside, as the active or medicinal ingredients but it has been elucidated that the main active ingredients of ginseng are saponins and sapogenins. Chinese Angelica has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a menstrual cycle balancer for treating all menstrual disturbances including menstrual pain. In addition to treating particular ailments, many herbs are consumed to help promote vitality and good health. Chinese Angelica, for example, has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a primary female tonic having nutritive and restorative effect.
