Hair brush
Hair styling is widely conducted with the object of hair beautification by combing the hair and partially cutting the excess hair, while massaging the scalp. In operation, combing and cutting of the hair have been conventionally conducted by using the hairdresser's scissors and combs as separate tools according to the object of the operation. Hand-held blow dryers have rapidly become one of the most popular devices for drying hair. A styling brush is often used with a blow dryer, to style and curl the hair as it is dried. Hair brushes of various types for the purpose of creating a neat appearance of a person's hair have been in existence for hundreds of years. Hair brushes of various designs and configurations usually provide a specific type of hair styling to the user's hair with regard to the general contours and the body of the hair wanted by the user. Such styling includes layering of the hair, curling the hair, adding volume to the hair, parting the hair and the like. Hair brushes have been constructed of a variety of materials but are generally comprised of a handle portion, a brush head and a plurality of bristles protruding out from the brush head. Brush handles and heads have been constructed of wood, metal and plastic. Bristles have been made of wood, plastic rubber and other resilient and non resilient materials. The bristles are usually attached to the head by insertion into a plurality of apertures in the head. Some recent forms of brushes include means to make them more compact during storage. These include folding handles and even bristles that fold or bend to lie in a flatter position. Hair brushes are available as either heatable or non-heatable units, as well as units having either a rotatable or non-rotatable hairwinding portion. Heatable hair brushes are often provided with self-contained means for heating the hairwinding portions.
