Haircutting scissors
Barbers or hairstylists and cosmetologists have been cutting hair for ages with scissors. The hair has to be cut to the proper length at different locations about the scalp in order to obtain the desired effect. In order to accomplish this it has been the frequent practice to hold the hair between the fingers and then cut off the top with a pair of scissors. The hairstylist cuts a customer's hair with several techniques, including trimming, thinning, layering, etc. Sometimes the hairstylist has to hold plural pairs of scissors in the same hand for proceeding with the thinning or layering of the hair to obtain the desired special hairstyle. The typical thinning scissors comprises a plain blade, a serrated blade, and means for pivotally joining both blades together. The plain blade normally presents a straight line edge. A regular thinning scissors for hairdresser is generally comprised of two blades pivoted together. Each blade has a cutting edge at the front side, and a circular or oval handle at the rear side. The serrated blade is provided with a large number of evenly spaced teeth. The thinning scissors allows the user to reduce the bulk of an area of hair without shortening the overall length of hair as seen by an observer.
