Nail polish
One of the most common beauty and makeup aids used by women is that of fingernail polish. Nail polish comprise a class of products regularly used by women as part of their beauty care. Enamel nail polishes are commercially available in different colors and shades. Women use this beauty accessory to match their wardrobe, jewelry and makeup. Nail polishes (including clear base and top coats), lacquers and enamels comprise a class of products regularly used by modern women as part of their beauty care regimen. The process of applying enamels to nails requires that three to four different layers of coating be applied and allowed to dry. Typically, a first layer of colorless base coat is applied, then two layers of color enamel and, finally, a layer of colorless polish for gloss and protection. Nail polishes are essentially comprised of pigments and/or dyes that are incorporated and suspended in various solvents and bases. The polishes are also stabilized in the suspension to protect the appearance of the product and to prevent the pigments, during the shelf life of the product, from floating, settling, separating, or striating the polish. Nail polishes are also formulated so that the film formed thereby is tough and durable and adheres to the human nail and will not readily crack, chip, peel, splinter, or become brittle after application and during wear. Fingernail polish is typically packaged in small bottles, each including a cap having an applicator brush extending therefrom. The caps typically screw onto the bottles, with the brush extending into the polish. In use, the cap is first unscrewed from the bottle and retracted therefrom to expose the polish-laden brush. Excess polish is then removed from the brush and polish is then applied to a fingernail by stroking the brush thereacross.
