Hair trimmer

During the last many years, individuals have been increasingly drawn to the advantages provided by electric shaver's and electric hair trimmers. Because the use of scissors, razors, and other cutting systems are extremely inconvenient for removing, trimming, or maintaining beards, mustaches, and hair lengths. In particular, cutting or trimming children's hair is often difficult with prior art methods. Electric hair trimmers are commonly used by stylists, barbers, or individuals for styling the hair of others. A cutting head of a hair trimmer typically includes a blade set having a fixed blade in face-to-face relation with a movable blade. An electric motor is drivingly connected to the movable blade to effect reciprocation thereof in response to actuation of the motor. There are trimmers available which are combined with electric shavers, as well as stand alone electric beard/moustache trimmers. These trimmers have a cutting head that is fixed in a single position and extends from the front of the unit. For cutting the hair to a uniform length, one may use an attachment comb that spaces the cutting head from the skin by a specified distance. Typically, it is suggested that the trimmers be used to cut the hair against the grain, i.e., opposite to the direction in which the hair naturally grows.
