Disposable contact lens

Contact lenses are very small, delicate articles which must be handled with great care from the time they are manufactured to the time they are used and ultimately discarded. Once manufactured, they are inspected and packaged for shipping to the consumer, usually in the hydrated state. Many people in society wear contact lenses. Contact lenses which are frequently replaced by the consumer have become very popular since they do not need to be cleaned and sterilized as often as contact lenses used in a traditional wearing regime. Consumers of frequent replacement lenses of course need to maintain a larger supply of lenses on hand than do consumers of contact lenses using a traditional wearing regime. It is commonly known that optical contact lenses must be periodically cleaned and moisturized to facilitate optimum performance when applied to the human cornea. A variety of cleaning and moisturizing solutions are also known. Commonly each contact lens is placed in a separate rigid container wherein a volume of lens care solution has been deposited from a larger separate container of lens care solution. A need exists, however, for a easily portable and disposable lens care apparatus for use by persons who are traveling. When traveling, it can be overly cumbersome to carry the larger volume of lens care solutions and separate lens containers. The use of disposable, non-permanent contact lenses, has become commonplace. Typically, with disposable contact lenses, the wearer can purchase a new pair of contact lenses periodically that can be worn for a prescribed number of days at which time the old lenses are actually thrown away. Soft disposable contact lenses are commonly contained in disposable packages. A popular contact lens package which is especially designed for packaging single contact lenses is the so-called "blister-pack" which generally comprises a molded, rigid, plastic container having a planar top surface with a concave-shaped well formed therein and wherein a single contact lens is placed with a quantity of storage fluid.
